With Easter on the way, moms and dads are shopping for baskets and all the candy they can hold. What would an Easter basket be without chocolate rabbits, jelly beans, marshmallowchicks and candy eggs filled with everything from chocolate and malted milk to caramel? Well … healthy.

We are not suggesting that you replace all sweets with vitamins and carrot sticks, but maybe some of the candy could be replaced with alternatives that will not decay
your child’s teeth. Kids love inexpensive toys that hang at the end of isles or multiply in bins at dollar stores, and many of them are perfect for car trips. The weather is
changing, so why not put in a shorts set? Consider items that encourage creativity, get kids outside or make them think.

The Easter Bunny will still bring plenty of fun, and even a few sweet treats. But cutting down on the amount of
sugar, food dyes and calories can only be a good thing!
