School

Younger siblings sometimes feel left out when the big kids go back to school. Here are some ideas to help your little ones feel special, too.

Plan Fun

Plan something fun to do with your younger child on the first day of school. Looking forward to a special day at the park or the library may quell jealousy.

Mother's Morning Out

Take a morning or two a week for yourself and let your little one get a taste of “going to school” at a local daycare.

Junior Helpers

Let younger siblings help make lunches or fill backpacks with essentials. They will feel involved rather than left out.

Play School

Pick up an age-appropriate workbook and spend some time after the older kids leave for school doing “schoolwork.”
