Younger siblings sometimes feel left out when the big kids go back to school. Here are some ideas to help your little ones feel special, too. |
Plan Fun
Plan something fun to do with your younger child on the first day of school. Looking forward to a special day at the park or the library may quell jealousy.
Mother's Morning Out
Take a morning or two a week for yourself and let your little one get a taste of “going to school” at a local daycare.
Junior Helpers
Let younger siblings help make lunches or fill backpacks with essentials. They will feel involved rather than left out.
Play School
Pick up an age-appropriate workbook and spend some time after the older kids leave for school doing “schoolwork.”
