| Children’s Book Adventures Focuses on the use of liter-ature to encourage lifelong learning while demonstra-ting that reading is fun! Each Program highlights a particular book and activities revolve around the book’s theme. Activities may include games, songs, poems, puppets and crafts. Passport Adventures Introduces children to different cultures and customs from around the world through books and storytelling. PAWS to Read Program Designed to raise a child’s reading level and boost his or her self-esteem through a positive reading experience. All dogs used in the program are trained by “Paws Columbus” and are certified therapy dogs. The goal of the “PAWS to Read” program is to improve the reading abilities of the students who participate and to offer a fun and rewarding experience at the library. | Tiny Tales Ages 0 to 24 months A fun program that introduces babies and toddlers to books and language activities and encourages parents to take on the role as their child’s first teacher. Preschool Adventures Ages 3-5 years Preschool Adventures encourages visits to the library for socialization and interaction with peers. Children listen to read alouds and enjoy songs, rhymes and fingerplays. Flannel board stories and puppets may allow for audience participation to reinforce that books and reading are fun!
